Thanks for the info guys. I'm trying to run this load as fast as I can. I'd hate to have them go bad on me. I guess I'll have to deal with ugly tarping on this occasion.

This may be Snowwy's best most helpful post ever ! Cheers bro, if I ever have onion hauling questions you're my go to guy !NavigatorWife and macavoy Thank this.

An added note;
I also ran 1x4's down the sides of the trlr to tilt the pallets inward, or if you have a hand jive load I nailed the 1x4's down and 2x4's front & rear.. that way everything had something to help the bags stay put..milskired Thanks this. -
Sometimes I wish I was team it would sure make life easier sometimes. But I got it knocked out. I happened to run into another gang of onion loads on 40 east outside kingman Arizona and one gave me a big helping hand. We re tarped the whole load at crazy Fred's. I offered him lunch and even some fuel out of my personal account and he rejected. Nice to see that people will take the time to physically get out and help you. Time for me to pay it forward.NavigatorWife, passingthru69, NHL_fan and 2 others Thank this.

Most of the time...... -
Onions on a flat usually survive better than they do in a van, as long as they don't get wet or freeze.
Big_Red Thanks this. -
I once picked up a 20' can in Oakland, stuffed full of onions from either Auz or NZ. One door had been taken off and 2x4's used to make a fence for the bags.
daf105paccar Thanks this.
