I have only 4 months of solo experience and my MVR is good. I have a 2021 speeding ticket for being 5 MPH over the limit in a non CMV, just regular car.
But I have 3 non dot preventable accidents on my DAC. It's like small damages which falls on the companies insurance. I was new with no real training working the Walmart account from Werner. I always found that odd because Walmart themselves don't allow any driver with less than 3 years to apply at least at the time.
Anyways I'm looking for work anywhere out of the Jacksonville, FL. I applied to a couple of places and I'm going to be calling people on Monday but I just want to hear if there's anything else out there.
Companies no longer list their qualifications anymore. What they accept and what they don't on their websites.
Also I kind of need to be home weekly. I know it's not ideal. I want the experience but everyone else in the house has their CDL and I'm the only one at the house with the car to pickup when they turn around in 2 weeks.
Any help to point me to certain companies would be appreciated
Only 4 months EXP and need to work

Questions: how long ago were those accidents? Can you describe those accidents in detail? If you have this much going on, it's going to be tough for you to get the job you'd like. You've got a speeding ticket, 3 preventable, and you lack experience. If you can get on with a company, you'll most likely need to take a job that won't get you home every week. You'll need to clean up that record.
nextgentrucker Thanks this. -
You need a company that will forgive that speeding ticket, & does not use DAC.
You might try Cypress Truck Lines. They will likely get you home every week.
Our Terminals - Cypress Truck Lines
They normally take on new(er) drivers.
To stay in trucking -- you will simply need to be more careful, both in a CMV & in your personal vehicle(s).

The preventable accidents were over a year ago and I've been out since.
The first accident some dude from swift was antagonizing me while I was backing up and there was a shopping cart. It was at a neighborhood Walmart and like no space only one dock with a "cliff" into a manmade lake. I put the shopping cart out of the way but still manage to run over it taking out a piece of the front fender. I was at fault but I don't think I was in the right headspace because some dude was just being really aggressive.
The second one is awning that I damaged. Another neighborhood Walmart with no space. There was construction so I couldn't come in the Thruway or the one way. So I had to blindsided back into the spot with mega thru traffic. But there was the awning on the building and poles and an awning over the pickup area where the dock was. The area also has trash area and a wall. I had to get turned around with no space and I made the mistake of being too close to the wall and lightly pushed up the awning not enough to break it or anything like that but it was damaged. If that makes sense.
The third one was another no space and time issue at another neighborhood Walmart. I couldn't go out the one way because my clock would have hit and it was a refrigerator unit and I would have ran out of gas waiting or trying to find a way to turn around. So I tried to create enough space for myself but in this one again I was too close to the wall so I end up scraping it and like scraping off some of the paint and they got me for that. -
I know the speeding ticket sounds bad but it's five over the limit. Just kind of wild I got pulled over for going five over the speed limit when everyone else is going like 10 and 15. And no I'm not exaggerating.nextgentrucker Thanks this. -
Do you know any other companies that don't use DAC in Florida because I was under the assumption everyone used it. Like do I call and ask? I feel like that doesn't look good on me
"Hey there buddy I've got some stuff I don't want you to see. You might not checking"
Maybe it's not like thatnextgentrucker Thanks this. -
Don't call Cypress first -- instead, submit a completed online application.
Wait about 5-7 days....then call to check on the status of your application.
If you strike out with Cypress -- you mite try Western Express next:
Home - Western Express
With WE -- you'll have a choice of dry van, or flatbed duty.
They hire out of all 48 states.
WE is well known for being a "second chance" carrier.

I already have. There's like a long list of people that I've applied to like a week or two ago. I'm just about to go around calling them to check up on things. I applied to Cypress like a week ago.
And apparently Western Express is not hiring in my area currently as I was told by a recruiter.
I basically made this post to see if there is an angle that I haven't already checked. Like companies I don't know about. -
I started out with Schneider National.
Schneider doesn't use DAC -- Schneider instead uses "DriverIQ".
You might put in an application there, too.
