Only Drivers Happy With Werner

rug trucker thank you for the confidence, I hope I get a job invite from werner or swift while im in school.. I really dont want to work for a mid level company such as the USPS or UPS or any of that stuff..

 

From my experience, it is not scuttlebutt.

 

You would make more money with USPS, UPS, or any of that stuff than you will with Werner.

 

How so? I couldent imagine

I cannot say for sure as I have not worked for UPS, and most USPS is contracted. But I do know that if you go to work for Werner you can expect to make less than .25/mile and get around 1500 miles a week. You could do better if you can find a dedicated account, but if you are not that lucky then good luck with your $300 per 7 day week job. Also you will not be home very often to make this good money.

The reason I say you would do better with UPS or USPS is because they will not hire you with no experience. You refer to them as mid level companies and that puts them a step up from Werner or Swift that you say you would like to work for.

 

well dont forget im a entry level going into cdl school very soon. So im going back and forth between swift and werner :/ when I find cold hard facts to support what you are saying about the pay and about ups or usps then maybe I will change my mind. So with that said its time to do some research.

 

Have you tried US Express? A friend of mine that works for Transport America says they may be hiring some students. They are a top notch company. Top safety ratings and most fleet is home weekends.

Personally, I would go to Werner before Swift. Why you ask? Swift told me two months ago that they will hire me on as an experienced driver. Now they're telling me they are only accepting students and team drivers with haz-mat right now. Whats the big deal? Well, I dont care to go to a company that will take a student over an "experienced" driver. That says to me they need slaves more than drivers.
