I really do appreciate your advise and experience. I am a newbie and really do not know what to do or what company to go with. Have many options with companies that want to hire me or say they are interested in me anyways. No criminal records & clean driving record, I just want to make good money know matter where I have to drive or when. Sure, weekends is nice to be off, and that is what I like about the dedicated Dollar Generals that are offered to me, but at this point in my life I want money. Who could blame me? lol.

I start orientation next week and was told by the recruiter I would go Family Dollar dedicated as soon as I am done with orientation.
We will see, I hope he is honest.

Hey Scott, Congrats, I am waiting on a test date from the State of Georgia for CDL. I am signed up for orientation for Oct 7th but doubt that I will have my test date by then. Just waiting. Where are you going to orientation? I will be going to Atlanta. Did your recruiter say that you would be off the weekends? Let me know what happens at orientation and all, would appreciate all the facts. Thanks!

    Bullseye,
I will be going to either Fontana or Pheonix, I call my recruiter on Monday for a definite date and location. My recruiter said I should be home most weekends once I learn the route.
I will keep you posted for sure. I wish you the best of luck on your test, keep us posted. I'm sure you will do well.
    Thanks

I appreciate that. A little nervous on doing the test, they are pretty hard on you in Georgia. Have a good one and keep in touch. Thanks!

Unless you got atleast 6months of experience you have to go with a trainer for about 75 hours of driving time

I go to Orientation Wednesday in Phoenix, I have 10 months experience, but they said I need to go with another driver, not as a trainee, but I did have a break in drive time so they want me to drive with another just to get back into the groove. Ruckie, do you drive for Werner? I too will be fulltime driver part time soldier, 25U and 25B.
