Some guys nose in to spaces on the assumption that it will be an easy escape because there are no marked spots behind them. Then overnight 2-3 trucks park in that area behind him.

True, but it doesn't bother me a bit to wake them up, so I can get out. Afterall, I'm the one that parked in a marked space, where they did not.MackDaddyMark Thanks this.

The only problem I have with people being nosed in; the 53' footer guys now have ALL that overhang sticking out instead of over the curb........
Dinomite Thanks this. -
I got a 53' spread, My rear axle is at the ### end of my trailer so no matter which way I park something will hang out, and I'd rather someone hit my trailer than my truck..MackDaddyMark Thanks this.

In that case i wouldnt care...............
Well I dont get all upset anyway I just go park somewhere else............ -
A lot of the places I have been too have them big barriers that your bumper would hit before you got backed in too far. Or you are parking back to back it doesn't matter if you nose in or not.

So I pulled in nose first to a spot. Plenty of room behind me and I was only going to be there a few minutes. Turning around and getting set up to back in was going to require me exiting the truckstop and going around the block.
Plus I had a trainee to spot me out for oncoming traffic.
So as I pull in I mention to my trainee, "Be very careful when you nose in. Watch for curbs and cement blocks. Its very easy to roll up on a curb and push the plastic bumper up and catch the curb under neath it. When you back out it will rip your bumper off."
We go inside, come back out and both drivers who parked next to me (nosed in also) have torn off their plastic bumpers. Both guys are standing around, angry and a bit exasperated.
My trainee said, "You tell me all these rules and tips and sometimes I think you are making this stuff up. I guess you do know what you are talking about"
Nose in, Nose out.... whatever, as long as you take responsibility for yoursel, and that you can get out of any situation you put yourself in without causing damage to your truck or someone else's property. -
I had a guy one night, and granted I parked next to HIM, but still, about an half hour after I parked, he decided to do a parked regen. Why would you do something like that in a crowded truck stop at 10:00PM?

Was probably offended by the quietness of your tanker.
