No, you can pull up to a 48' wagon. Over that length and the wheelbase can't exceed 244".

They are grandfathering to let you wear it out instead of parking it or going thru the cost of having it shortened.

Thanks for clearing me up. Overall your truck cannot exceed 75' no matter what you do. I thought I mentioned that before too. 2005 is when the the law came into effect. Any truck built after that has to comply with the new regulations.

True but a normal truck can go into Michigan from any other state and be fine unlike a truck going into Ontario. It isn't like Michigan won't allow a truck in the state unless it has more than 5 axles. Also Michigan trucks CAN go anywhere they wish as long as the meet the weigh limits. Ohio and Indiana doesn't stop them at the state line because they have more axles. Our only true stupid state is CA with their KP to rear axle law.

Yes but why make the law? I mean if I choose to order a truck with a 350" wheelbase (as dumb as it may be) I'm the guy that has to maneuver it. I could be wrong but to me it seems like a law in search of a problem. Did Ontario have a rash of trucks getting stuck because of a length problem before the law? Or is it like the speed limiters, lawmakers trying to seem useful?
I know of a certain trailer MFG that have "refurbished" a few trailers for some Canadian O/O's because of their new lift axle laws. Instead of paying for a new trailer with steerable lifts they put your axles under a "new" flat and move your vin plate. So you can have a 10yr old flatbed that looks surprisingly shiny. It's like a trailer glider kit!:biggrin_2559:

Don't believe that's true. I know lots of guys running newer trucks with over 244. My good buddy drives a Pete just local Ontario and its obvious that its over 244 and hes never had any problems. Truck is a 2007.

If it is true the MTO sure don't give a s#!* cause I've never heard of them giving someone a hard time unless they were pulling a 53
