I'm in the process of getting a quote from OOIDA right now. One thing people should be aware of is that they have a list of brokers and shippers that they will not allow you to do business with, and some of those brokers are big ones. So keep that in mind if you're thinking of getting a quote from them.

Not true. What I was told by OOIDA agent is that it is Landstar's decision weather or not to allow you to haul for them using OOIDA insurance. Landstar allowed me to signup to haul their freight. OOIDA doesn't care who you haul for. Most of the others on the list ask for WAIVER of SUBROGATION and OOIDA doesn't provide that.

Landstar gives you a 45 day exemption. After that they won't use you. I have ooida and went through it with landstarve. Argued with the broker a bit. Then called carrier relations. Landstar is crap double brokered loads anyways. Best to stay away anyways

How long after your authority was active did Landstar allow you to haul freight for them?

It's a moot point anyway. I received the OOIDA insurance quote today, and it was 40% higher than my current coverage. So I'm staying where I am.
