This is spot on. I set a lot of bridge beams when I was a crane operator and was very surprised when I found out the beams just set on bearing plates and just kind of float there. It’s still pretty impressive that the truck moved that much weight!
So... this gives a whole new meaning to driving over a tall bridge. Especially those curved spaghetti bowl bridges. I don’t think I wanna drive anymore. What the heck they do in Ca. with earthquakes?
