Yeah, that is part of being an adult, you are responsible for the choices you make. What if while making that one mistake you killed some one, or just severely mamed them. But it was just one mistake.

Man up and take responsibility for yourself.

Accept what it is that you have done, and hope the judge will be leinant.

BTW, since I turned 18 I have never been behind the wheel of an automobile within 24 hours of conusming alcahol. It is a personal standard that I hold myself to.

In fact I havent had a drink since new years 2008. But hey that is how I roll.

yes, and heroin was added as well. which is an opiate as is the poppy seed.

i do not have the numbers and that is because they are not published either on the web site or in the magazine article.

I agree 100%. Who gives a ##### what levels are when driving. My concern is to have a level of zero. Protect your livelihood is smart, trying to fool the law is just iignorant. If you do go out make sure there's a back-up plan if the driver does not drive. Have enough money for a cab or call someone. But to get behind the wheel because you think there's no other way is just plain stupid.

You all can quote what you think the laws are for levels in the system but on serveral counts it's nonsense. I'm a firm believer if you are going to quote a law it's got to come from the law itself and not some stupid TV show or magazine. But why even worry what the level are if you know there is a peoblem with a certain produc?. If poopy seeds cause a problem would you rather eat poppy seeds or drive?

Same goes with prescribed meds. You makes sure your MRO knows what you're taking and get it from a doctor that knows his responsibilities under the FMCSA.

Here we go, for those of you who wanted proof beyond mythbusters (which is a scientifical show on an educational station)

This article contains DOT tests on poppy seeds. :evil3:

This link proves the Nyquil theory too!

For those who doubted Rerun here is the proof in writing by reputable websites. I have a bunch more if you are still insistent Rerun is wrong. Also, I have never known Rerun to post anything that he can't back up! Believe me, he has proven me several times.

As for the bright individual who chose to drink and drive, technically we have no right of accusing you of wrong doing until your day in court. If you are seriously telling us that you did drink and drive, and by the way you better hope your prosecutor doesn't read this, then you are admitting guilt. Like the other poster said it isn't a secret as to what the dui laws are. In my book you have absolutely NO excuse for that crap! You also cannot categorize this as a "mistake" either. Bad judgment call? Yes! Consider yourself very lucky you aren't being charged with attempted manslaughter! Because if you would have had an accident that's what you would be facing!
Just a side note; I believe if you have a CDL and you get a dui in any type of vehicle, then you should have your CDL taken away for life! There just isn't any excuse for that crap! Good luck to you and prepare yourself for a whole bunch of fines and very high price insurance! :smt030

The more I read this thread the more I get pi$$ed. I can't stand issues that happen that are totally preventable. Virtually every one of us knows someone that was affected by a drunk driver. I lost 2 friends to drunk drivers. I have a firm stance on this issue, like many professional drivers.

I am glad that the only damage done here was to one's ego and his CDL. Fortunately he didnt hurt himself or someone else in the process.
Seems like the OP learned his lesson, but as he is finding out..sometimes misfortune will follow you for a lifetime....

I read the original post.... But didn't read any replies. Why? Because I have a response.... A response you probably aren't going to like!

You sir or madam are the type of people that we don't need in this industry. I don't care if you were in a car, truck, tractor, lawnmower, or a ####### bicycle.... You disobeyed the law & put many of lived at stake.... Including your own!

OK so what! It was a car!! How many times will you get away with it in a car until you decide that you can drink & drive a big truck. Come on now... Think about it. You never got caught in the car.... So what are your chances of getting caught in a big truck? It's only one time, right? Who's it going to hurt?

If your lucky enough, you won't hurt yourself or anyone else.... But you may run out of luck someday & run across driver's like myself. Go ask that driver from Lisk Tank Lines who decided to drive drunk on 2007 if he enjoyed meeting me? I'm sure he didn't & I'm sure he's flipping burgers at McDonalds right now.

Well!!! #### you. #### your attorney. You need to have your lisence revoked immediately & barred from driving commericially.... You are a disgrace to this industry.

I think I already said this but it cost time and money to get my CDL and to screw up and lose it would lose a LOT more than just my job.

You will NEVER catch me driving drunk because I will NEVER drive drunk.
