    Sad. Too bad to have it end that way. So much for insurance (sounds like he didnt have any if having to work at 7-11)

    Tug test alone isn't good enough, you gotta poke your head under and look, a flashlight even during the day makes it easy.

    If he had a Fontaine fifth wheel then it wouldn’t be surprising,as there was a recall out on them. A couple months ago I had my fifth wheel rebuilt
    because the locking jaws DIDN’T disengage when I was dropping off at a railyard. All of our trucks use either Holland or Jost fifth wheels(mine was a Holland). The technician who worked on my truck saw a 3 inch chunk of metal on top of where the lock jaws were.

    The Fontaine on the freightliner I drive gave me a lot of grief.

    Once the engine is finished, it’s coming off.

    I’m glad to see that’s it’s going to be removed and I’m gonna test my own strength at throwing it in the scrap pile.
