How many of us could or would run under these kind of rules?

 

Not even close my friend.....

We don't have mobile medical units setup along the highways, in terminals and at weigh stations..... It might be coming though, who knows

 

Maybe so, but be very careful what you wish for. Why should 99% of us be forced into something because of the behavior of 1%.....

Take for instance, interstate bus drivers in Mexico. Each major terminal has an SCT Medical office in it that the drivers have to pass through before they can begin their trip to get cleared... We definitely don't need that up here

 

No, that is just what they call the exercise that they pull randomly and during every major holiday.

 

That is how they choose to enforce their laws. The publics safety overrides concerns for drivers personal rights.

For instance, a Federal cop pulls a trucker over and suspects the driver is using drugs, too fatigued or sick to safely continue, they can call an SCT certified doctor to the scene to make an official determination and permit him to continue or put them out of service right on the spot.

Same goes for bus drivers. Airline pilots have similar SCT medical offices in the major airports.
