Definately go with Schneider. There are more oppurtunities for advancement etc. What I mean by that is you can work your way up to owning your own truck, work in the office , whatever. Schneider has the best lease for Owner Operators in the country. All other leases are compared to them. I have never worked for or with Schneider, but I have alot of freinds there and from what I've read in my Landline magazine. Covenant is an alright company, but as far as job security and upward movement, they pale in comparison to Schneider, and whoever posted that reply earlier is not entirely correct. I owned a trucking company with 7 trucks, I had two trucks that were for new hires and 5 for my high seniority drivers. No company is gonna put someone in a new truck unless they know they are gonna take care of them. Taking in consideration even a fleet spec'd truck costs around 100k, they definately want their best drivers in their best trucks. Just makes sense.

I asked the exact same question when I first started out over a year ago ( http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...new-drivers/157812-schneider-or-covenant.html ) . I considered the popular opinion (which said go SNI) but I went with covenant and am glad I did ( my decision was based primarily on which company would pay me the most over my first year).

I'm no longer working for covenant (they're not well-suited for solo drivers), but I'd still do it the same way if I could go back in time.

Not that schneider is a bad company, but their equipment does look pretty run down and their 1st year pay scale couldn't compare.

I encourage you to check out the Covenant forum here ( http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/covenant/ ) and read other people's views too. Same goes for schneider ( http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/schneider/ )
