Ok so I have been driving locally for 12 years but thinking about doing intermodel lcoal /regional. So my question is he want to pay me 40% of what the truck makes is that reasonable? He says his drivers make $1200-1400 every week.

I'm assuming you're considering working for an O/O? 40% of gross to the truck is actually higher then the norm. I would ask for settlements that have been paid. Consider it "trust, but verify" kind of thing.
-
Normal would be 25-30%.....having said that, I used to work for a carrier that paid its drivers %.....one driver told me he got 25% = to +- 1k per week.....another driver told me he had a "special deal" due to longevity, he got 40% = to +- 1k.
Needles to say I left, 1 week later.....Reddog2110 Thanks this. -

S&L have been around for a long time, believe the Owner started as a dispatcher at Marina Cartage, I see them hauling a hell of a lot of APL equipment (cheap in my opinion) and there's a forever sign on their wall on Archer of them looking for drivers. @Reddog2110

Yeah I see the same sign ! So I talked to the guy yesterday he's willing to take me on. I'm looking to get back in the industry been away from tractor-trailer for a long time been doing straight jobs for a about 12yrs so he says he's willing to shake the rust off me and train me in the intermodel business. I'm pretty sure I'm going to take the job most likely in October. Thanks for your feedback. Keep trucking !
