As a trainer i would have to agree, even though
The two trainee's i had under thos new system did upgrade.
Its not enough time and they learn very little at this one week glorifed orentation. I like the old system better.. Had more time to train them rigjt instead of rushing to pump them with as much info as we can in two weeks...

though is it not your choice as a trainer to upgrade ure student? I'm confused, what was it that the company implicitly ordered a strict two Weeks?

Ok PAM brass, we know you read these so spill the beans. Why the change in the training program?
Too many accidents with newbies, and you want more control.
Turn over through the roof, and pushing them into first seat?
Some bored executive needed a project?
    OR (my guess)
Somehow you figured out this new program adds $7 profit per month.

There ya go right there. With the amount of trucks sitting in yards and the company wanting TEAMS much less a solo driver occupying them, they're not getting those trucks back out on the road as quickly as before.

Sorry man. I came back out Monday and pickup my new student today. Best of luck to you. Hope you get a good trainer.

Jeez... I've been thinking of PAM but this all scares me. Maybe I'll keep looking! I want good training and don't want to be an accident report!

To be fair to PAMela, the training u get is just as good as the trainer. You can get.a bad trainer anywhere. With that said, if you think u need more training it's up to you to ask for it.

I have stopped training new drivers. I trained only one that went through everything in Tontitown, but I have to say he was a better overall student than most of the other's I had. However, that's likely because he was simply smarter than the others.

But, he didn't understand anything about the quailcom, EOBR or paper logs. His backing was better than most students I had.

I think the real trouble with training is they expect you to work like a team and that doesn't fly because I had to wake up too often when the student was confused or had to back. Maybe it was because I always seemed to get short pulls and if I'd gotten more coast to coast work it would have been better. I just didn't.

That was my only problem with PAM's training to be honest, my trainer didn't agree with the teaming with a student either. That's another reason I'm not becoming a trainer
