you sir are exactly right. my charging plug only pulls a few amps. my jumper pack acts as a 12v ups....that is what i was talking about. i was thinking of the ups for my computer and thought why wouldnt it work for 12v with a jumper pack. so far all my tests have passed flawlessly. we will see how it holds up after a year of use.

amps x volts=watts

I think if it stays plugged in all day it will charge fine. You can charge batteries with a 2 Amp trickle charge. In fact a slow charge is the preferred method.
Another indicator that it will charge would be if you hook two batteries together the charge will always equalize in the two. If one is low the other will drop until they are equal. -
Maybe. I'm no expert in electronics by a long shot but I did try a UPS so I could take along my (at the time) state of the art desktop for some heavy duty gaming but I was never able to get to charge in the truck. To be more precise, the charging light that was on the UPS never came on. Maybe I should have had more patience but what the hell, it gave me an excuse to buy a laptop, lol.

No offense intended. It's hard to argue with your facts. It almost sounds like it wasn't getting a good connection though.
If the light just showed connection it should come on when plugged in. If it actually sensed charging it should come on when the truck was started and voltage increased.
