Geez Coover, sounds frustrating. Yeah I'm curious what's gonna happen today since I'm back at my D.C. We've been pretty slow here.

We were told in a newsletter that a human still "approves"/puts a load on you, the computer is just picking the loads, trying to plan us 4 moves ahead to better allow us to plan our day, lol sounds good. We got a detailed list of what entries are vital to make, and WHEN and WHEN not to make them. I'm not suggesting you're making any mistake that way all, I'm suggesting that it's the same problem we've as drivers have always had, dispatchers and load planners not being able to realize a 1" move on a map isn't a 10 minute drive. Our gtm actually told us the computer spits out a list of suggestions and the roc gives it a quick view and says looks good, and sends it, or looks bad and doesn't, but 9/10 they'll say looks good and not really knowing what they're looking at. I'm pretty new, but was surprised I was sending certain messages at the wrong times. Which screws up their system.
For instance, last night. I got back to the D.C. with 20 minutes maybe left. I show arrived, dropped my trailer then parked my bobtail. Instead of ending trip, I'm supposed to send eta for the a.m.(if I sent it after I ended trip, it would've gone nowhere), then begin layover, then in a.m. come off of layover, then end trip. Were told we're never to go on layover between trips because it can make us look "invisible" to the system. It surely was doing something like that because when we're slow, it definitely was loading other than first in, first out. -
Sooooo, after I did everything properly, I get up at Mt P. Iowa to go in to work out and shower and as I stop by my window to see how everything is, it shows I'm in Hammond Indiana at 08:00 empty and waiting.

Did a trip from Greencastle Indiana to Coldwater MI one day. Told the Coldwater coordinator my driver number. She looked at her computer and asked (I swear), "Have you done the Greencastle to Coldwater trip yet?"
My point, they have no idea how to think for themselves in regards to dispatches. I was standing in front of her and she STILL asked a horribly stupid question.TransplantBadger and 91B20H8 Thank this. -
Lol, when calling asking about not having empty trailer for my backhaul at jonesville store yesterday lady at ROC asked why I haven't left Midway TN yet?!?!? No sorry computer wrong I'm calling you from store where there is no empty..... She asks So you're still in Midway? Gotta love technology lol

Optimizer wasn't messing around today and neither was I LOL!! It kept throwing cross towns on me and I had driven in from out of town so I had some miles too. Ended up being one of my best days at $515.00. Sucks working weekends until you have days like this lol
BackIsSore and slim6596 Thank this. -
Some of you guys are putting way too much info in your posts, naming DCs and runs, it wouldn't take much for someone to zero in, on exactly who you are. I'd be a little less exact, with what you're posting here. You never know who be snooping on you.
Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get me!Chewey2, georgear1084 and noninetofive Thank this.
