    @travelsizegirl
    If I were you, I would never jump from one company to another without gaining some experience. You have a commitment for 12 months (I believe) with Swift, therefore, you should fulfill that and then switch over to the next company, if you get a substantial difference in pay. Work for swift for 10 months, see if you like it, then start talking to other companies and get some job offers. Once your 12 month commitment is over, ask Swift to match the pay and if they dont, then move on, else keep working there. Just my 2 cents.

    Thank you all so much for the advice. We've discussed what you've all said here and have decided to stick with Swift for at least a year. It's what we were leaning toward anyway. Thanks for everything. I'm sure you'll hear from me/us again in no time. :p

    Here is a thought to mull over: You are not in a hurry to get a new job, you already have one.

    You have all the time in the world to look at and check out other companies, ask questions, observe other operations as you go about your work. You are going to learn what you like and don't like about trucking and some of that will likely surprise you.

    Take this time to develop your skills, learn the lifestyle and figure out whether this profession is for you.

    Oh, and always remember this: Your current job is the interview for your next one. Make a good impression.
