Maybe not. A lot of guys brag about their numbers. Especially to those outside the industry. They always use the gross number. It sounds better than saying I work my arse off all week and own all this liability for 1000 bucks take home.

 

I assumed that that but did you? Net is what counts not gross.

 

I'd want to see proof. Off of one truck five days a week. Not working when it's raining. I have a hard time believing a rock bucket is making 6 to 7k gross on two loads a day. But if so kudos to him.

 

I say more power to you. Educate yourself and surround yourself with the right network of people. Be prepared to work harder then you ever have before and you will give yourself a chance to make. I was in the exact same position as you when I graduated college. Deapite friends and family's advice I bought a truck and didn't look back. 16 years 25 trucks and about 40 trailers later I am still here. All running locally. It's not easy but not impossible. Finding your own niche is key. As far as new or pre owned. I would be looking for a no frills complete glider kit. Nothing to fancy. If you want Pm me and we can talk more.
