you need to get a free consult with an attorney in the area where you got your ticket and see what they say... they deal with it all the time and know what the judges are hard on and what they let slide...

there is always some 800 numbers in the trucker ad's that deal with traffic tickets as well

If you don't have enough money to set up your own $60K bond, which I assume you don't since you live in a converted passenger van, you pay someone else to bond you. You are compensating them for a service and since it is a business deal, they are entitled to profit from it. Oregon's law is you carry a minimum value of insurance or you do not move the vehicle on public roads. Don't like the law? Move somewhere it does not exist. Let me know how that works out for ya.

You have indicated by your above statement you willfully disobeyed a law you were fully aware of at the time of the offense. For no other reason than you disagreed with it. How about I disagree with burglary and theft laws, so I break into your van and take everything you own? Would be no more wrong than knowingly driving on public roads in Oregon without insurance because you think insurance companies are a rip off.

Better turn in that CDL. If this is how you think about insurance requirements in a POV, you will most likely feel the same way about physical requrements and zero tolerance for controlled substances in a CMV.

Unfortunately in your case, tickets in your POV do not add points to your CSA score.

All right, all right, before a MAJOR flame war starts let's stop this minor one. You guys have a good point. I still disagree on the profit aspect but I can get a 60K bond to insure myself? Interesting. And I will contact a lawyer. Thanks.
