Company I work for has Norpass, Prepass and Green Light (Ore) transponders in cab. 9 times out of 10 I’m either green lighted or scale is closed. Recently I zoned out and blew past an open scale in Oregon. To make matters more confusing my transponder for the first time ever didn’t give me a red or green light, it was silent. Probably added to why I wasn’t fully engaged. I know, I messed up. I know those scales are photo enforced, my question is how will they know it was me driving? And what are the fines involved? Do they include MVR points?

For what it’s worth earlier in the day I got red lighted and weighed legal at the port of entry (Ashland) and then got green lighted at the scales near Roseburg.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Probably will never hear another thing about it.

If they ever ask you about it, just tell them you were making an attaboy comment on the DOT Facebook page at the time, and you missed the scale, then apologize. They'll let it slide.

    Get a good night's sleep.
    Stress is a silent killer.
I wouldn't make a habit of it after getting away with it, but it's not the end of the world.
    You'd already cleared Ashland.
"IF" they were to review a pic of the truck info they'd likely see the company and unit is not a scofflaw.
It's nice to think they'd use a little judgement in these situations.
Put it on the back burner and go about your business.

You’ll be fine. I’ve gone pass them on occasion before when I drove in Oregon. If they didn’t chase you down at the moment. Let it go.

wish that were true but the scale was definitely open. As soon as I realized my mistake I looked to the right and saw a swifty truck weighing axles. In any case I’m just going chalk it up to a learning experience and pray the fine isn’t catastrophic if it does come back to bite me.

Remember if the ramp is backed up you’re legally allowed and actually supposed to keep going. That happens to me at least once every two or three months I’ll get a red light to pull in and the #### ramp is backed out all the way to the freeway. I just keep going. I think once or twice per year I miss a stop and nothing has ever come of it. It happens!

Hell I've pulled up to the pad at a PoE in Oregon(kfalls)and the guy was asleep in his chair. What happens on the road stays on the road.
