    Learned something new today. Didn't know about root fires.
    Underground peat fires and underground coal fires are general knowledge though.
    That coal mine fire in PA has been burning for decades.

    I saw that the other day. And the worst part is it can do so much hidden damage that years later it can have an affect from destroying roots and making trees unstable, and the ground also. They said temps go as high as 1200 degrees.
