I work out of Vanlue. We are paid percentage here and I have realized that every driver out of the other terminals that isn't percentage based is making a lot more. Deadheads are awful. Regularly deadheading 100+ miles. I am estimating that 75% of my day is unpaid at this point. Leaving in late summer. They are getting waaaaayyy too much free labor. Don't mind load securement or anything like that. Just sick of working for no pay. Came in January being told that most loads aren't live loaded, but at least 50% of mine are and the ones that are pre-loaded and tarped have to be fixed. It is rare that I am able to get more than 1 load done a day because of the deadheads.
