Hey T.D. At anytime you feel this guy is risking your safety or isn't doing things kosher then you do need to give safety a call. You know when to draw line. Keep in mind, like one of the other posters had said, your butt is on the line if something goes wrong! Don't get points on your CDL before you have even finished training. Some stuff can be swept under the rug but don't let this dumb*** push it! Drive safe man, another day in check!

Frankly, I said I have never seen him do a PTI, he may very well do them when I am sleeping ( sleep like a log) and franly, between us and such, he scares me a bit. If I were to complain and I KNOW they will call him to get his side, when im on the truck still with him, I dont want that kinda fall out, part of me keeps hoping a little that the right person sees this thread, and I get yanked off his truck next time we are in the denver terminal or somthing.
But then again I lose time and money if I get yanked off, I mean I honestly dont know how to handle this. He teaches good when he teaches, and I could easily get a WORSE trainer, -
If you have never seen him do a pti, he is not a good trainer - period.
If you are afraid of the guy, you need to call your dm and explain the situation. Or, the next time you are in a terminal - stay there and talk to the right people.
You really are playing russian roulette with your life and career by letting this go.
Plus, it's that kind of attitude that keeps bad mentors around. And someday it is going to cost someone their life.Wedge, The Challenger, chompi and 2 others Thank this. -
Yeah, and when he finds out I ratted him out? I deal with a guy who has spoken, quite plainly about doing large amounts of bodily harm to how did he put it: "People that mess with someones career" but he put it more in a racist manner twords a black man who was just trying to do his job, and well, I admit it, when he goes on his tirades, I agree with him, because he scares me a bit, not to mention im thousands of miles from home, with no way to assure my own safety.
I know they takl to him about things I talk to safety and such about, and well, I dun wanna deal with the bad bad stuff that would ome my way.
Maybe I should just quit or somthing...-sighs- -
What you guys dont seem to understand, I am STUCK with him, if I rat him out, I am stuck with him till I get somewhere else. And in that time is not exactly a place I feel safe being. If there was a way that I could be pulled from a truck and him told that it has nothing to do with him? Fine, I would concider it, but the problem is, eventually, it would get back to him and he would hunt me down I geneunaly belive this.
The Challenger Thanks this. -
Do what you want, TD, and good luck to you.
-
Thanks for the advice. As I said, I would not mind leaving and getting a 'better' trainer, but there is somthing to be said for looking out for my own health and well being. Perhaps the next time he makes a threat to kick me off, I will ask him to get a load to denver so he can then.
-
Thing is, you are not looking out for your own health and well being.
You are running scared because some jerk talks tough, while at the same time putting your health and safety in the hands of a very unsafe driver.
Not to mention every other vehicle around you.Wedge Thanks this.
