    Thank you. :)

With the help of a good friend I am trying to get out of this situation, despite having had my trainer say, quite openly that he would 'Fing kill anyone that screwed with his career' and such.

Great example: We had a load that gets here in 6 hours , and then goes 400 miles.

Instead of taking it, and using it to catch up his sleep (He has had about 3-5 hrs in 3 days) he declines it in favor of us running farther, sooner, he is out of hours already, I am the one that has to start driving and such (At night, again.) Why does he not REST instead?

I will say what you already know. It is up to YOU to make sure you are getting all the training that you deserve. No one else is going to be there to speak up for you in that truck.

    Good luck

I hope your "good friend" is in Safety, in Driver Services, or a SWIFT driver.

    Your blow hard trainer is:

    1) trying to intimidate you into letting him treat you like shi*.
    2) doing a fine job of screwing up his career on his own, and in the process....
    3) trying to screw up yours before it even begins.

    Call your manager

My good friend is Injun, whome drives for swift, and the support of the people here. I am currently sitting in the albiqurque terminal, with all my stuff, im off his truck, and got probably oh, 14 hours before DS is here or some such, and I can talk to them. My manager is in denver, should I call her or talk to the people here?

But I talked to one in pheonix, and he advised me to get off the truck too so I did, and now I just gotta figure out what to do from this point.

I'm glad you made this decision - not easy - but the best one from where I sit. At to what you do at this point - be true to yourself and take it one step at a time!!

NO YOU DID NOT MAKE A MISTAKE!! Yes, you are a newbie, yes, you are under duress and yes,you are questioning your actions. That is normal, no matter what situation a person is in. You need to calm down, rest, let SWIFT help you work it out, and eventually you will be able to move with getting the proper training YOU deserve.

I do not know you, but I am proud that you stepped up and did what you had to for your best interests. That lazy trainer did not have your best interests in mind. Remember that.

First off I think that you really aren't making a mistake. If you can back up some of what was done I think it should be a total non issue. Sorry I don't know the company structure though to know who to go talk to. I would call what you did as personal responsibility and it deserves respect and doing whats right for you and the safety of others.

I agree with what ladyK said too.

Well, I mean, I guess, I just wonder if im cut out for this. I enjoy having some time on the computer every day, 2-3 hours or so, last night is a great example, I burned 7 hours on the drive line (little over 400 miles) without stopping. No potty, no food, nothing. I pulled over for 2.5-3 hrs, spent it on the computer, ate, went restroom, then drove another 75 miles to park for the night. 475-480 is not a 500-600 mile day (That he was wanting/doing himself) but its not bad!

He is annoyed if he runs under 500 miles, guns for 600 EVERY day, and....to put 1,000-1200 miles behind you every single day, all the time, is madness in my eyes.

People need time to themself, to stay connected with reality, with friends, with family. I dont need to be home, my home is on my laptop, thats where my friends are, its sad, but its true. And I want 2-3 hours a day (Normally) to be able to connect with them.

I understand some days thats not possible, but every day? I am not driven by greed, his or anyone elses. I am driven by my desire to be happy, to do my 2500-3000 miles a week. And I can do that easily, and still have the time I desire for myself every day. Ya know?

Katey and The Challenger Thank this.
