TD you just did what I did to my 1st trainer. But you did it the less violent way. I'm sure they will have you on another trainers truck in no time. My 1st trainer I called my DM and said this truck is coming into a terminal with only one driver in it. It will be me or him not sure yet but I have a sharp knife so you better get me off this truck before I kill him. We were routed right into a terminal and was told to get my stuff off his truck. In the morning I talked to safety and to a few others. Since then he was put on suspension form training due to other students stating same stuff I had. The guy wouldn't do a PTI to save his own life. And could only yell and tell me that he though I was gay because I ran across the parking lot in DEC in north NB. I was cold I never pay attention to how I walk and or run. If I am cold I am not taking my time to walk across a parking lot. but either way YOU DID THE RIGHT THING. I am a trainer now days and I MAKE my students do a pre and post trip EVERYDAY. And when we get into team mode I do my PTI while they do their post trip and vice versa. That way I can go over it with them again and again. I also teach them about every part on the truck even the ones dot doesn't list about inspecting. Why because thats what good trainers do. That guy was a POS and you better hope I don't find out his truck number and what he looks like or I might have to "have some BIG BLUNT words" with him.

Be advised that if you intend to use this thread as an account then you need to be very cautious as to what you post. Use your head. Not your emotions. Remember, when you speak to an authority, all your frustration is due to an untolerable mesh between you and your trainer. Swift has not been the problem.

You need a place to lay down, the floor if you have to. I've slept on airport terminal floors. Not ideal but will do the trick if you are exhausted.Try to eat something-anything- and get some water.
Yes, you have your cdl. Take solice in that, and you have a future ahead of you if you want it.

The bottom line is that you did not feel safe under this trainer. You chose to remove yourself from what you percieve to be an unsafe environment based on the training you have had to this point. If they ask for the specifics of why you felt unsafe give then the truth. Try very hard to keep your personal feelings out of the discussion. Just stick to the facts.

-thinks- "Based on my interactions with him, seeing how he responded to others, I felt that I was unsafe in dealing with him, or expressing my desire to leave his truck and seek training elsewhere" ?

Easy, Buckeye. The guy is scared. This is his first shot at a real career, a huge lifestyle change and he ended up 24/7 with some bullying idiot who made it a goal to tear him down. He's off the truck and on his way to getting it straightened out. I can understand your frustration. Keep in mind our Dragon is a young guy and not everybody is designed the same even when they have the same built-in equipment.

I had to learn that in the fire service when training new people. Had a young recruit stand there staring at the hydrant and crying because she forgot how to put two gates on it and connect the hose. I was a little rough on her over it. She almost quit because of my treatment of her, but she pulled through it and is an excellent firefighter today. I yelled a little more than was probably necessary and, while I didn't call her names or question her intelligence, I did make her sit in the truck for the duration of the incident. I believe she recently made Lieutenant.

just lil me, Katey and The Challenger Thank this.
