Boy, night and day difference from that other guy. Wonder what he's doing now?
Good for you Dragon. I'm glad you got a decent trainer. Too bad all trainers can't be like this Rick. Give him thumbs up from me. He's doing it right!

Hey TD - it sounds like you finally found a true MENTOR rather than someone who only wishes to make more money. Congrats, and I hope the rest of your training goes well. Stay safe out there!

But...we might be going teams on a idea I had, ill fill yall in if it works out -
Todays update, only 333 miles, finishing out a run, and no load or place to drop it yet, good thing though, I did my first thing that im told that everyone does at some point, I was driving...driving, straight road, straight road...straight road...RUMBLE STRIP OH MY GOD IM NOT GOING STRAIGHT!
I completely tranced out, like I dont even remember point a or point b all I remember is rumble strip. Pulled off (after only 100 miles) and rested, wandered, started again, felt fine for 50 miles and then started feeling drowsie...but about a hour after THAT i was fine again...so odd feeling. -
The only thing about the OP, is that this is only the prospective of one individual as each person is different with many variations giving each and every person a different experiance. Attitude and mindset will be the first thing's that will determine how thing's go and who they are paired up with and what their attitude and mindset are like. It's better to find a cool laid back trainer than a ####y o9ne that need's the #### slapped out of them because they only want you for your logbook and labor.

I could be confused, but I feel like you just said that I am not giving a accurate representation of what has gone on so far. but then turned around and said I did.
Injun Thanks this. -
Hey T.D. another day down! At least now they are a little more enjoyable right?!
In the winter time when you are driving you don't necessarily want to be absolutely comfortable. What I mean is "absolute comfortable" means perfect conditions for sleeping! Get what I mean? Especially if you have the heat on. It will put you in a trans faster then a gypsy in New Orleans! Yes, be somewhat comfortable, but do stuff like if you are running the heater then open your windows a little. Crank up the radio or find an interesting talk show to listen to. Take interest in the scenery or make up a little traveling game to play yourself (not with yourself!) Sounds dumb but it keeps your mind from wandering off. I use to go to those brainstorming websites. The ones that have riddles and tough questions. I would write them down and try to solve them while I was driving. I used to have a schedule too. For instance, start driving, drink one coke. Make and eat my oatmeal while driving and when done eat my banana. While doing this I had a talk show I would listen to everyday at this time. If not you can Ipod or go to iheart radio and find one. Now after that I would have a dip. After my dip I would aim somewhere preferably rest stop so that I could walk the dog and brush my teeth. 10 min tops! After getting back on the interstate now it was time to eat my sunflower seeds. There's hardly any calories in them and if you put a whole handful in your mouth they really keep you busy. You would be surprised how awake and alert they keep you. It's a challenge trying to crack them and eat them without eating shells and still holding all the other ones in my mouth. After a few rounds of sunflower seeds I would do my stretches. I mean reasonable stretches you can do while driving. Arms, shoulders, neck, hands, feet, etc... I don't mean for you to do a split between the seats while going down the interstate!
Anyway you get the point. Make up some of your own little ticks to keep you alert and occupied. Drive safely!
Raincatcher, The Challenger and B.A.D. Thank this. -

You'll find opening the window in the wintertime while going down the road is quite refreshing and will raise your alertness level. I know exactly as you described TD. Thing is, you need to recognize that feeling and deal with it ASAP...be it a 5-hour energy drink, a rest stop with a brisk walk or whatever.
Glad to see things are going better for you. -
If you get to the liberty ts on I-10 in phoenix I might still be here in the shiney clean Central truck.
