I'm trying, and, well he is a good guy, and a good trainer im sure, I got no bad words for HIM, but man, I am having trouble learning some of this stuff ya know, and I know every driver wants to 'go go go' but, he seems to want to drop, hook, go, stop, 10hrs, go, 10 hrs, go, etc. And I dunno if I can do that yet ...but im trying to keep up...

Most important thing is stay safe. If your trainer wants you to drive while tired don't do it. If he gives you problems about it reference him to FMCSR 392.3.

Well, after his 'hour nap' so i can 'see how good a hour nap is for you' turned into a 4.5 hour nap , and he came out (while I been waiting) he tells me that we will head out when his hours reset and such, or some sich I dunno, but I do know this means ill end up napping at some point and more driving at night...

Hey T.D. I think he is just trying to intimidate you a little bit. Some trainers really take their authority to a whole new level. Just keep in the back of your mind that he is nothing but a miserable trucker who has to train to make his ends meet! As far as the running hard, that's trucking! You are really going to have to hustle when you are out on your own, so it is good that is he is pushing you now. I know it seems tough, believe me, especially since you are trying to get used to lifestyle too! You need to hang in there though and make the best of it. Won't be long and you will have your own truck. Like I said I know it sucks he is running you hard but it really is for the best of you. Try to relax and enjoy it because it will be harder when you are on your own at first. Ask every possible question you can now. Good luck!

You're certainly not stupid. You just don't have much experience, and are having a hard time putting everything together. It'll come.

When he starts hollerin' try asking him to explain what you're doing wrong.

When you get a chance watch other drivers parking, backing into docks. Sometimes getting that perspective outside of when you're doing it helps. Also, think about how you pull out of a parking space or dock... think about how the truck is positioned; backing in is just reversing the process. It takes time TD!

Sorry for the long delay my trainer decided to run himself 10 or so hours worth of driving, then have ME driver for around 8 or so, keeping him up about 23 hours with only a 2 hour nap, and at the end, because I mised a gear I got screamed at and told how 'simple it is' and such for about 20 minutes, then the big one: When we pulled in I cut it close to the guard building, and when we were leaving the guard claimed he hit the fence (He pulled us away from the guard building) And oh lord, for 30 minutes he cussed about how stupid that mistake was of me, and how simple it is to avoid, and how bad I am at shifting gears, and how he cant understand why I dont get 'shift faster' yadda yadda

Throw in some racist comments about how the guard was probably just out to #### with him. I sat there silently, and just listened to it all, what else was I going to do? And he finally screamed "Why arnt you saying anything? Silent treatment?" I said "What am I supposed to say?" And then it started all again about my mistake fudging up his career etc.

It was a rough couple days, thats all. -shrugs- Frankly, I dunno how to feel, he is NORMALLY a good guy, I got praise for my shifting earlier in the day, I did pretty good but ....god ####.... =(

On the upside I did get to stop and see my bro LRwerewolf (Also on the forum) for a hour or so and have breakfast! ^.^

just lil me, Gears and The Challenger Thank this.
