By law payroll advances are taxable when they are taken out of your check. 100 dollars now come out of the net when paid.

Actually the numbers I used was a smidge over 16% withholding and that is not too unrealistic. Plus it's is better to overestimate a tax burden and end up ahead then to underestimate and end up in the hole.

I am just asking because I don't want to see you end up with $80 to live on where you are expecting $165 after your advance and phone bill payment. I am curious as to how this works on pay while with a trainer because I am planning my expenses for when I am going through it.

You are doing just fine! It is going to take you a little while before you are shifting, backing etc... with ease. As far as your trainer goes, most trainers pay for at least one meal a day while you are with them. This is just a courtesy since you are making them good money while they are training you. At the very least they should be buying you showers with their fuel bonus cards. Hang in there though, everything will change once you have your own truck!

No good trainer says the kind of things to his student that it seems this guy says to you.He forgot where he came from.He was sitting in your seat at one time. All I can say is,keep your head on straight and try to get through it.Every day your that much closer to your own truck.

I received a text message update from our Dragon: He's doing "okay" but not looking forward to Wolf Creek Pass tomorrow with 40K in the box. I told him just take it slow and he'll be okay. I'm glad he's getting a lot of bad weather driving now, while he's with a trainer, however much of a d***head his trainer is. Better than having to figure it out on his own, IMO.

*sniff!* I'm so proud of him!
