Hey Craig, In you post, you stated that there were those from orientation who were sent home for medical and one that could not get employment verified. I think this might be a problem for both my husband and myself, since with the economy, several of the companies have gone belly up. Do you think there is a way we can be proactive in making sure this poses no problem for us? Any suggestions?

 

Craig, When they are short on trainers, does the prospective employee have to foot their own hotel bill? How is this handled?

 

Talk to your recruiter. Income tax returns is where I would start and get phone numbers for old supervisors if you can but make sure your recruiter walks you through it before you head to orientation.

 

They will usually keep you at the terminal and pay for the hotel for a couple of days. If they do not have something lined up they will send you home until they find a trainer. Once you go home, you are not paid until you get back on a bus or get picked up.

 

musicgal, Glad to see you are training! I've been following your posts and Craig's. Just love the positive attitudes! My husband and I are hoping to get into USX orientation around September. Could I request you as a trainer or is it on a first come first serve basis? I told my husband that I would prefer a female trainer, but if one is not available, I would consider a respectful male trainer. So how does the assignment work at USX?
