Orientation is finished! I go out with my trainer tomorrow or Sunday; she's stuck at a shop trying to get her windshield fixed. Guess I get to learn to drive an 8-speed. All I've driven has been 10,13, and 18. Shouldn't be too difficult
Actually it is a 9 speed. We just do not call the granny gear a speed. A 8 speed is very easy. I was in a 13 before I got this truck, and it took just a couple of hours to get used to it. Have fun with the new Mentor.
Hmm.. Let's see... Day 1: physicals, drug screening, copy of driver's license, and correcting errors on your application. Logging practice and tests. Hazmat test and OS/D test. Day 2: logging and mapping exercises, talk with different company people and departments. State tax forms, get issued fuel card and other agreements and policies. Day 3: driver coding and federal tax forms. Videos about trainer and student issues, who was wrong in the situation, etc. Then sitting and doing nothing until getting assigned a mentor.
Your application from the recruiter's system gets printed out and you verify information. #### near everything on mine was wrong. Even my name was misspelled.
