At least its a short one! Fuel management alone can vary 10 to 20-cpm on what you sneak across the bottom line... best place to learn how to be economical on the throttle is on the company side.

Hey IP. I was being sarcastic! My miles have been great. Some of the loads have had a little more time on them than I like, but I've worked that into resets which seems to have worked in my favor as next load is pretty long and just doable. I never complain to my FM as he has a proven record of getting me miles as I've proven to him I am reliable, on time, and communicate problems immediately.
Of course I had a darn good trainer who'll reap the benefits as I'm not going anywhere soon. Thanks U2

No extra benefits here. It all ends at upgrade.
You are probably thinking of instructors... they get bonus for certain points their students stick around. also some sort of milage pay too... like .001/mile their student completes at Prime. (Dont quote me on the exact numbers, cuz Im not sure) -
Oh, and here I was mistakenly thinking you still had a vested interest in me.

well everyone has been quiet here lately.... i have driven for JCT as well as FFE on both their lease programs.... I applied to Prime recently and am waiting on her to call me back.... I just dread orientation.... when i first started in trucking a few years ago it was originally with stevens transport.... after two days in their school.... they sent me home saying they "found" something on m background report.... when i questioned about it they handed me a bus ticket and said have a good day. so i rode the hound home and applied to ffe the next day.... go approved the same day with NOTHING showing on my background report... so I am nervous about if prime does ALL of their checks before i get the final approval for orientation or is it after you get there..... thanks and keep that sunny side up and the greasy one down.....

also does prime pay for food while in orientation?
-
They do a basic check prior to arrival, and a much more detailed check after you arrive. Be painfully truthful about everything, and you should be okay. And yeah, I know what you mean... you're sitting on pins and needles for the first two days!
Food is paid for - they provide you with a basic allowance that can be used as you like in the cafeteria and grill (at night) in the Millenium building. It's easy to go over that allowance (you're not going to starve if you don't) - especially at the grill at night. So bring some cash so you can chow down on one of those hand-cut steaks, especially when you get approved and celebrate that first truck! -
]No offense intended here Excelguy...just want to make sure you're coming to the right place.
Your profile says you've been a trucker for 2 years. In that time, you've been with at least:
- Stevens Transport (albeit only orientation - I understand this one)
- FFE
- JCT
Now you're thinking Prime. That would be 4 carriers in 2 years. Even if we cut out Stevens, that's still 3 carriers in 2 - 3 years. What's going on with these other companies? And more importantly, why do you think Prime is going to solve the problems you've had with the other carriers?
Again, not trying to offend you here, but it's starting to look like you're job hopping. And you may find that Prime is more of the same. Too many companies in a short period of time will hurt you down the road. I'd think very seriously about jumping ship too quickly again, and make sure Prime isn't going to be the same thing with a different name on the trailer. -
I wish we got mileage pay for every mile one of our former students runs. We get a bonus when they get their own truck, at 6 months, and at 1 year. After one year, no more money for a former student.
