I'm CERTAIN there is a resignation clause in something you signed that states they will not pay your orientation pay if you resign before your start work date.
MartinFromBC Thanks this. -
Besides laws no longer matter here.
We have the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, trudeau broke them daily the last 2.5 years, but he isn't in a maximum security prison. -
How do I do the laughing emoji on here?

McDonald's won't even hire you to flip burgers without a signed employment contract.liner and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
You should have asked the particulars of orientation compensation before you attended.
I did orientation once 25 years ago... pay was $100 each day meals and hotel included plus $100 travel both ways. The company was upfront right away as originally they told me 4 days but due to my experience they shortened to 2 days. Mostly meet and greet and show me the facilities. Only hands on was DG paperwork and hooking up a set of trains to take driver service rep for a tour around the city.MartinFromBC Thanks this. -
Hey folks,
Thanks for the replies and feedback -- I did read the employment contract, but I cannot find anything in there about conditions on payment for orientation. I am going to look over the documents again to make sure.
The company was Qline -- promise the moon, give your uranus. LOL Play of words there. I just find their practices misleading and dishonest. I had to fly out to Saskatoon for orientation and stay in a hotel (which they paid for). But then spend 5 days there because of major screw ups with equipment, which they promised they wouldn't have. At the end of it, giving them plenty of time to fix the issue, I felt they were just blowing smoke up my ### -- plus, if they could't handle this issue, how would they be on a major one.
Thanks again.Magoo1968, LtlAnonymous and MartinFromBC Thank this. -
Having been to saskatoon, I don't believe anything good has ever happened there.
Bodhi Thanks this. -
If you worked for any of them you signed a contract.MartinFromBC Thanks this.
