I agree they will push me, at times, to run a load I may not want to run. I will deal with it when that time comes and that is the time I can set the tone, with how I will or not, be pushed into taking loads. As for the truck payment; talked to a recruiter 15mins ago and it is $325 a week, starting on the 3rd week. I know exactly what I am getting into and, although it is not what I truely want to do, it is what I feel I have to do.

I have researched and researched anything related to purchasing, running and making a living with truck, since 08 Doesn't mean I know squat about everything but, I feel I am more prepaired than the average man, getting into this type of thing.

These are full loads off the Malone loadboard leaving North Carolina right now.

    Couple of these- Armour, NC -Mifflentown, PA $700 gross + $250 fuel= $562.50 + $250 = $812.50/530miles = $1.53 per mile

    Couple of these- Dudley, NC - Cleveland, OH $625 + $300 = $468.75 + 300= $768.75/621miles = $1.23 per mile

    Moncure, NC - Huntinburg, IN $1193.72+$0 fuel = $895.29/640miles = $1.39 per mile

    Roaring River, NC - Houston, TX $1450 + $550 = $1087.50 + $550 = $1637.50/1100 miles = $1.48 per mile with crap coming out.

These are just a couple off the in house malone load board with only 20 total loads posted coming out of North Carolina right now. These loads are posted by different brokers just to show its not one bad one.

Looks like i wont be using the crst load boards.
How hard is it to book outside loads?

And are those $$ before or after crst takes its 25%. If theyre after some of those arent bad

These are broke down for you. At the beginning I show what the gross is and then add fuel. Then I do the math and show what YOU get after malone takes their 25% off. These loads I just posted are the same as some bottom feeder dry van drop and hook company pays. In my book $1.50 per mile is a far distance then the $2/mile Malone advertises?

If you are in an area and MALONE DOESN'T have any loads available THEN and ONLY THEN will you be able to book an outside load. They say you can use landstar broker loadboard and mercer's loadboard but when it comes down too it they really don't like it.

Thanks a lot man. I can make money on those. Enough to get home even if i can keep moving. The no outside boards may be a dealbreaker for me though ill call recruiting tomorrow. There are a metric ton of loads coming out of/into nc and the reason i want to go there is self dispatch etc. I dont even mind leasing an agent trailer if it will get him off ### and run the paperwork. But no forced dispatch means no forced dispatch, not "no forced dispatch unless we need you to run something". I appreciate your work a lot.

2800 miles a week is tough unless you take the low rate high mile loads and they don't like the LP guys to go to TX or much west of the Mississippi.

I prefer the high rate short mile loads.

You'll see how good those broker loads are when the B-ham office takes all morning or afternoon to sign the rate confirmation and your FM tells you it's okay to go load and the shipper closes at 3:30 and your GPS says arrival time 4:30! You gamble and go to load before they tell you it's okay but if they don't sign rate sheet you just wasted fuel and maybe have to unload at shipper what they just put on you! Also there are many brokers who Malone won't do business with and vice versa so lots of times you find a good load but you won't get past the first phone call.

And those loads volvodriver posted from 3 hours ago are cheapos left at the end of the day. You'll wonder why you ain't making any money if you haul those garbage loads. They have better paying stuff but those don't hang on the board.

Semi im open to learning man. I agree.. running 600 miles at $2 per mile to the truck is much better than running 1200 miles at 1.50 to the truck. Id LIKE to be able to preplan off the load boards during the week and then send them in for next week. Are there a lot of chicago, western il, wisc, mischigan etc loads that pay? that would be Sweet.

Does this apply to the owner op with his on truck? I was under the impression you can book your own loads from outside load boards at any time.
