How is the home time? How often and how long are you home for?

Depends how long ago you had that experience. Worst case scenario they can put you with a trainer for 30-40 hours which is about a week. If experience is recent you just test out right after orientation and are assigned a truck! :)

DOT physical is part of orientation, so yes, you will have a new one. You get a free one and you prolong it with a fresh 2 year one. Just don't forget to go and provide the dmv with your new one when you are at home

Home time is 1 day for every week on the road. They want you to stay out for at least 2 weeks, but was told they prefer 3.

Guys, I haven't ditched the thread, I am just having a super long vacation (2 months) :) I will be posting soon when I get back.

Since I have been out longer than 30 days Werner said they will have to rehire me. It is okay by me, since they assured me my training hours (163 of 275) will not go to waste. I am olanning on going back mid september.

Werner was real good about getting me home. Its best to request your hometime 2 weeks in advance and its done over the QUALCOMM then you remind your dispatcher every few days.I believ if you get home late on the day you was suppose to be home like late ithat afternoon then that day wont be counted as part of your hometime.

First day was ok. But kinda upset. I am going into the bus fleet. I only packed 2 days of cloths for orientation because I was told I would take the next bus out to Atlanta early next week. Thinking I get one last weekend at home with my Fiancee. Guy running orientation said no I will get a truck out of lakeland and run with it and then drop it off in Atlanta and ride bus home. I am not even close to ready to go OTR yet. I have nosupplies and no money till the weekend to get any. First day and the BS is already starting!!!!!!!

Congratulations the reasons I picked Werner over Schneider which seems to be a good company is that a lot of former students graduated from my school (shippers choice)went there and love it they bring there trucks to school but at the time I was going with Schneider or Millis wish I would had chatted with then in school but earlier today I went to the school and a Werner driver former student was there gave me a heads up and a few other Werner driver numbers the only thing they kept saying was they love and the GPS be wrong he's only a year in so
