I just celbrated my 1 year mark with Werner. During your first few months solo, pay close attention to getting all the macros sent in for your logs, loads, etc. Dispatch may try to ask you to do something you cannot do, stick to your guns and let the electronic log be your shield... I've foiled them twice that way, 14 hours is enough for any day. Run the load as fast as you safely and legally can. Finishing early gets you on board for another load sooner. Don't refuse loads! Planners will not like you for that. My first 3 months had over 32k paid miles. If you are sitting and waiting on a load, remind them every couple hours with a macro 26... show that you want to run, prove you can, and you will. Go solar... become a solar powered driver... start your 14 hour clock early, say 0500, and you insure you will be off the road by 1900, before it is impossible to find a parking place... and it foils the "'drop that on the yard and shag this one into JQCustomer at midnight".
Orientation with Werner. What I have done so far...

I understand what you are saying about OTR and I am sure you are right. The thing is OTR is what I want. We'll see how orientation goes and I will post here. I am leaving today. I will let them know about my trip abroad for the surgery after orientation. If they say they will not continue my employment because I am going to be away for two months I will respectfully tell them something about their motherIn this case I will move up to Jacksonville at the end of August and find employment there.

At the Greyhound terminal in Fort Lauderdale. The adventure begins! First time on a bus. Buses supposed to have wifi and power outlets - sounds good. Will post later on today.

Congrats on your CDL, I worked for Werner in 2009 and I had a decent experience. Did my 325 training hours then went to the Family Dollar dedicated account. If you can get past the initial training hump the rest will seem easy. Goodluck if you have any questions let me know I maybe able to help.
