Just starting orientation in Dallas after graduating in Denver. Do you get paid for the week of orientation? I know the class that graduated before me is still waiting for trainers. Do you get paid while waiting to be assigned a trainer?

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Isn't this a question that should have been asked and answered before you showed up? I mean seriously, what kind of questions did you ask? Any at all?
Good luck.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
You should get paid something for orientation. probly nada for waiting for a trainer. Dont mind that cranky dude, he's been in the truck too long lol --
CrappieJunkie, x1Heavy and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
thanks Austinmike. i actually am the wife posting. I mean he'll find out for sure tomorrow but was just curious. I guess they're having to wait quite a while for trainers so just wondered if we need to have a backup plan once he gets his hard copy of his cdl. I'd rather him make a check and have to pay tuition back then sit around making nothing.

Well... Orientation is not a sure thing in trucking. A percentage are sent home for a variety of reasons that first week in Orientation. For those they are not paid. And sometimes they have to find their own way home.
The pay for it is pretty small, the training pay not much better.
If the wheels taint turning, you taint being paid.
IF at all possible, pay off that tuition. DO NOT indenture servitude yourself to a contract under a carrier.
It goes without saying Recruiters are not well respected in the industry because it motivates them something terrible to get fresh meat that knows nothing and asks no questions into trucking. Their way, not the school way.DoubleO7 Thanks this.
