I was not sure where to post this but I wanted to share some other foods choices with people in there trucks. I just want to start by saying I Kayak and long distance hike when I get a chance when I say long distance I am talking from 50 miles to 430 mile hikes!
The diet out there is different than what it is behind the wheel of a truck but have the same problem what can I cook that wont go bad and is good for me.
You can go into any outdoor supply place or even walmart and get dehydrated foods that just call for hot water, and for the most part they are quiet tasty!! Like anything you want to look at the label especially at the sodium since some of this stuff is high in it like good old canned foods.
Dehydrated is much better for you then freezdryed is. they cost bout five dollars a meal yes a little costly but convenient. Check out Trailfoods.com They are the tastiest meals in my opinion! If you go there check out the trailfoods brand be careful some are very high in fat and sodium but all the info is there on each individual food. Another good place to go to is a health food store they have allot of things that dont require refrigeration. I know it is hard to get this stuff out on the road but it would be a great change in the diet. Hope this helps some of you out with new Ideas. take care and keep it safe.
