    Don't tell us, tell him
Take him out somewhere quiet, maybe fishing, and bring it up gently.
Give him a chance to explain it to you in a non hostile environment.
    Just my 2 cents

Not everyone gets a cushy regional job. OTR is a huge part of trucking in North America. I was talking about drivers being forced to be away from home because the job requires you to be. Not that people are being forced to be drivers.

He's a bit to young to "explain" things. Maybe in a couple years. It doesn't help his dad is a real pos...no child support and rarely sees him. When he does he spanks him for every little thing and barely pays him attention, taking selfies to send to girls he's texting. One time his son actually said "my dad doesnt love me hes always on his phone. I think he loves his phone more than me" He will take a picture of him sitting next to his son, send it, then delete it all without interacting with him. And only taking the picture to put on the image of "look at me being daddy of the year"

I feel bad because I know he just wants my attention as he doesn't have a male role model in his dad. I try to give him all the attention I can but also I have other responsibilitys when home. I spose chinatown has the right of it. Just try to make the time I have quality time.

I have a regional gig and it's far from "cushy". huge swings in miles for those weekly 34s at the house

Isn't that life tho.... Sometimes you gotta do things that you don't like it's called being a responsible adult.. It's not all rose petals out here in the world and there no such thing is cushy in this day and age.

My mother told me that's why she had to be the disciplinarian when my was was home. When I was in my early teens I had figured that if my parents got divorced, (they never did), I would rather live with my father because he was nicer.

Thank you Captain Obvious. I was trying to say drivers are a particular group of people who do a lot more than they SHOULD do to make their income and was praising them for putting up with it. But okay, I'll be a Negative Nelly like you.
