You had an air card so what difference to them would it make?

Kind of what they told me.

 

Verizon allows IPhone hot spot with normal data plans.

 

That was the point I was trying to make. I got the air card 3 months ago. Prior to that I was using personal hotspot.

That explains it. I still have unlimited data from Verizon. They would not allow the hotspot without limits

 

Verizon has good coverage in most places. Southern Texas, Oklahoma, and Wyoming can be spotty.

 

Eastern NM too, along I-40.

verizon charges a $40 fee now. no way around it. they've changed the pricing structure, then added the 40 fee. price is still the same but now the hotspot is included. no need to jailbreak or root your phone anymore.

 

I have unlimited data and a third party tethering app. That's my way around it.
