Yes, this is what i am trying to accomplish. OTR isn't the problem for me, it's being out for a 3-7wks at a time before being able to get home.

In my area, a lot of local people put ads on Craigslist instead of the major sites and papers. Everything from LTL to Regional and local, and, of course, OTR pop up on Craigslist. You will find a lot of recruiters there, as well as drivers trying to make a few extra dollars in recruiting bonuses, but there are more and more companies using Craigslist as a first resort because it's cheap, and it gets results. Keep an eye to CL for those small companies that are hiring.

thanks guys, i will definately expand my searches, it's just most of these guys out here make it seem like OTR is the only way if i want to be a driver. all of my exp. is in refeer division but wouldn't mind the flatbed side of life. the next time i am home i will see about getting my hazmat and tanker endorsments.

Ah come on, I was 22 when I started with May Trucking and was home every 5 weeks....It's not that bad.
