Well thats a bit different than he " DRIVERS FOR NASCAR " , this outfit is far from a NASCAR race team.

Its the same deal a few drivers have hauling cars around for the PETTY EXPERIENCE to tracks and car shows.

Not quite the GAMOUR of hauling Kyles # 18 Toyota around for Joe Gibbs racing but should be an OK gig.

And they spend more time at CHAROLLETTE than any place else during the year.

I said he drives a NASCAR car hauler which it is, Its a car hauler with Real nascars inside thats Owned by NASCAR.

The Richard Petty Experience is a joke, There cars have never been raced by real drivers, yes they are built almost the same as a cup car but they've never been "Cup Cars". They used to print off a time sheet for everyone that showed how fast you went they ALL said 200mph, then some reporters came with radar guns and found out there were only doing 70mph, they got in BIG trouble.

As for the Official NASCAR Experience, there Cup cars were REAL cup cars at one point, one of the ones in my dads trailer is one of Jeff Gordon's old cars, and the Indy cars they have were actual INDY cars at one point in there lives. And since he's been driving for them they've spent more time out on the road at other tracks then here in Charlotte. While it might not be the most glamorous job, he has gotten to see a bunch of tracks he's never been to before as well as he's gotten to drive the NASCAR's and the INDY cars.

And yes I agree it would be WAY cooler and more fun to drive a TEAM's Car hauler, which is his next move he's met some people from some of the teams that can get him in one of those jobs.

NASCAR does not OWN it and you better remeasure it , 53' is the length of the enclosed car haulers.:biggrin_2555:

All the DRIVING experiences use REAL ex nascar cars from various teams

I have done 5 of the RACE experiences and none even think of ADVERTISING the 200 MPH BS.:biggrin_2559: let alone sucker people into thinking they drove at that speed.

Around 135 MPH is about the top speed at the DISNEY track in Florida for PETTY EXPERIENCE and you know the difference between 70 & 130 MPH

MARIOS deal is 180 in a 2 seater type open ####pit car with him DRIVING.

PETTYS ride along is around 160 - 165 MPH with their instructor driving.

The point here is what job do you want to work for. If it were me I'd take the job I'd be the happiest at and go from there. Just be careful of signing any contracts and leave yourself an out. You are the one that will be the driver not all the rest of the people telling you to go and not to go. It's up to you.

I've chosen to go OTR, I may look into the NASCAR experience thing later but for now OTR is what I want to do.

Thanks for the words of Wisdom GasHauler!

Federal law limits OTR trailers to 53' (some states allow a 57' with a permit)... if you are over you need a oversize permit in every state you run in...that doesn't happen with the NASCAR teams...

Personally I would get some experience with driving before going into NASCAR. I have a few connection in NHRA and NASCAR but want to get at least 1 year under my belt before taking on the multi-million dollar loads. If you need a team partner I would be happy to join you. I know my connections ask for teams not individuals.

    Good luck.

    American-Trucker Thanks this.

Yea thats what I'm planning on doing, I'm actually trying to get on with Watkins Shepard right now, Im scheduled for orientation on sept 27th....My dad and his boss want me to do this NASCAR thing now but I'm going to wait a while, even though it's a great job and opportunity It's not what I want to do right now. I want to Drive not drive for a day or two then sit for four days lol

But for sure if I ever find a NASCAR job that I need a team driver for I'll let ya know.
