Ouch!

This right here. The pictures are what they used, but the larger crane is to finish. Definitely need an oversized crane for long spans. The longer the lever the more the leverage. If you need to place something a ways away it gets a bit bonkers the size you need.

We used a 60 ton a few years ago to set rooftop AC units .

it will lift 60 tons right next to the crane .
But stretch it out to maximum reach and it will only lift 2 tons .

we had a small boiler that weighed 3 tons and it wouldn’t lift it , we had to break the boiler down into two sections .

 

This "216,000 pound transformer made by Siemens" all I could think was how much did that cost?

Totally not his fault you guys. That junk equipment that couldn't even climb the trailer had a totally bullet proof swing lock that should never have failed. No reason at all to protect from rotation

 

I’ve never hauled a single crane and I know to chain the house to prevent side to side movement. I’ll even do that on some of the “bigger” excavators I’ve hauled. If you’re throwing chains at the machine anyway, might as well put them in spots that accomplish multiple things at once.
