At Prime they roll as a team. You need to learn how to operate the truck while someone is still there to help out, but without that person babying you.
Out with a trainer??

Is it a requirement that trucks used for training are double-bunk? I mean if the trainer is going to be awake, riding shotgun while you're driving, both trainer and trainee will be sleeping at the same time.
I mean how's the trainee expected to get some rest? Question may sound dumb, but from what I've read on here about some training experiences, I thought I'd ask to have it clarified. -
At Prime all Instructor/trainer trucks are fullsize condos

Not sure if it is a requirement but I don't know many trainers that would train with only one bed.
Course back in the day they used to do it that way. Could you imagine training in a coffin cab? Peeeeeeeuuuuuuuuu! Tight and stinky! Sleepin feet to feet!

Nope, I think I'd sleep in van/refer, or on the deck of the flatbed..

Could be worse... the sleepers were in the trailer at one time lol

The best training too. I went through it. Never been in a truck til I got to orientation. Now Ive got a lot of miles in. I did the full 50,000 with a trainer, now its only 30,000 (hope were not turning into those "other" companies). It takes awhile to learn everything you need to learn to SAFETLY operate one of these rigs on your own. You cant learn it in 3 weeks sitting in a classroom, you must be out on the road actually driving, doing paperwork, etc...

At Roehl you do 8 days at a terminal with classroom, yard and road training, then you go out with a trainer for 10-14 days, then into your own truck.
