Well, since it was at the Waynesville, NC Pilot, the driver most likely turned it over in "the gorge". There are several curves in that stretch that are always scarred from wrecks. Seldom did a week go by for a time where there wasn't a wreck there. Drivers just do not respect the laws of physics and the harm ignoring said laws can bring to their person.

I lived in that area from '94 until 2005, so I know it well.

 

to say that you don"t care if a fellow trucker died is just not right. and to call yourself an american trucker, America is a christian nation our lord and savior jesus ask us to love one another, you may not like what some people do you are to still love them. so to say you don't care if another trucker dies you can not be called American Trucker. AT you to can be taken out of this world in a truck wreck, just as quick like a bug that just hit your windshield. you should give a little thought before you say i don't care. that could be you and just were will you spend eternity.

 

The truck was towed, obviously. If it was an "outie" wouldn't the wind pressure push the glass inward, making it an "innie"???

And if the truck is sliding on it's side, it doesn't need a frontal impact to throw an un-belted driver through the glass. The enormous amount of friction slowing the truck as it slides on it's side, with parts like the front steer wheel digging into the ground, would put enough braking force on the truck to toss the driver through the windshield.

Without any news articles attached to the photo, none of us can tell with any degree of certainty what exactly happened. All we can do is speculate. Like this:

Maybe some punk kids threw a cinder block off a viaduct, it went through the windshield and hit the driver, who lost control and rolled it???

Um... yes. Based entirely on looking at one single photograph, I was able to conclude with 100% certainty exactly what happened, even the events leading up to the crash. I can even tell by the picture that the driver had filled his thermos that morning with the "Sumatra" flavor of coffee at a Pilot.

Geez, it's not very often somebody says something that warrants such an high level of sarcasm!
