The training was a tough 4 weeks but was actually a fun time and I graduated last Friday. I'll visit the DMV on Tuesday to pick up my hard copy. The only endorsement I'm skipping is HazMat because I just don't want to have to hassle with retesting everything when renewing my license. No job lined up yet but if they require Haz then I will get it. Because of my high BP issue my health card is only good for 6 months.

Thanks for all the helpful tips. Now ... on to bigger and better things!

You don't have to retest to keep your haz-mat, you do have to redo your fingerprints etc...

I hate to hear the word outsourced. I won't go on a rant. lol. But it's a pity that business works like that sometimes, and is becoming ever more frequent.

On a more encouraging note: Please don't let a biological number (age) misdirect you in a way that keeps you alive. A quote from within the most amazing books in existence says, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." As soon as hope is lost, the momentum changes to work against us. There are some that don't really find out what they're capable of until later in life and even/especially at that point, the eyes will continue to be opened. Your age should be working for you, not against you.
Congratulations on your new license :)

Wise words ... and a very nice message to wake up to on this first Monday of my new life.

I am feeling healthier and brighter than I have in the last 15 years and am looking forward to this adventure. Now to get those applications into Roehl, Schneider, Werner, et al.

    Thank you, Razor3.

I'm really not one to give advice as far as good first companies, but I've heard pretty decent words about Roehl, with super mixed opinions with the other two you listed. Either way, best of 'luck' to you at wherever you decided to go first. After a few years, the doors really open up as far as choices. Most people say 1 year, but I've seen quite a few that have wanted 3 yrs.

Maybe we'll run across each other at some point out on the road. If you're into radio, CB or Ham, that's one of my newly found interests. I've always liked CB. Amateur radio is still in the extreme new phases.

I finished up the last hour of yard and received my diploma yesterday. GPA 93%.

Then, off to the DMV for the hard copy of my license.

Moments ago I received a pre hire letter from Roehl. Looks like my job search may be over!

Great job with the schooling. And glad to hear the job search is going well. Hope Roehl is a good fit and all goes smooth for you.
