No need to be red faced.

He could have easily stripped a few inches off either side by parking in a Pilot or Love's.

What if the truck with the 11 wide mirrors is loaded on the trailer?

Ok...just goofing. 30 years ago, 96in wide48ftlobg trailers were the norm. Nowadays, they’re rare. Even among flatbedders. The vast majority now is 102x53ft. You can bet the house that OP was pulling a 102 wide 53ft trailer.

Well, let me rephrase that...your 35-40 ton rgns with the tandems and a 29ft well, are 48 ft...so they are still around.

If it's on the trailer, the mirrors are SUPPOSED to be folded in...but you knew that. I've never pulled a flat longer than 48' and really don't care to. Hard enough getting people to load a 48' spread with the rear axle at the tail of the trailer far enough forward to get some weight on my drives...sure as hell don't want or need 5' of trailer tempting the knucklehead on the forklift.

If I bought a flatbed, it would likely be a 48'x96" closed tandems that slide. Probably steel, too...keep me from having to kill careless people when loading or unloading.
