Very true. Even distribution is something that comes with time and experience though. The OP will learn with time. Scales that only give You a gross suck. Weighed at the port one day axles were 9500, 49600, and 86500. Don't think that wasn't a rough 500 mile ride. I don't want to think about what the finds would've been for being 6100 over on axles 3&4. That was back when I was pulling a grain wagon though.

No they don't. Well I got the popcorn who's got the 30 pack of old miwakee I wanna be bullet proof when I get involved in this argument lol

as far as wieght on the the steer axle, it depends on the axle rating, check the sticker on the door. If who ever ordered the truck was cheap you could have a 10500 or 11000 lbs axle, Tx has been asking the axle rating during inspections, so now how your truck is set up.

Are you saying if you put your front axel on a scale with no load it weighs 12,300?

    Yes,that's what I'm saying....
There are more trucks on the road like this, then what you think.

DD15,DEF burner and tank, and batteries mounted right behind the front wheels, plus storage boxes, headache rack,APU. 1/2 and 5/8 chains and binders.

    It all adds up.

Alot of states are like that, but I try to stay out of cali as much as possible.

My steer axle and tires are rated for 14,000lbs.
    If I had a 12,000 front end,then I would have some problems.

You can go up to 20,000lbs on a single axle, providing the tires and axle is rated for the weight.
Most truck steer axles are rated for 12,000lbs.

I don't ever worry about steers. Got me fifth wheel all the way back, most I ever had on my steers was 11500. As long as me gauge stays under 62psi, I'm good. :p
