No overhang beyond deck edge. That's oversize territory. Either over length, over width or over height or any combination thereof.
For over length a few feet we used to tie red flag on the end of the product and hang a over size banner on the aft end.
Otherwise we tried where possible with a long enough tractor frame to get it sticking forward over, but not stabbing or impaling against the tractor in any way.
Another workaround would be to whistle up a 53 foot deck. What would be oversize to a 48 might be resolved with that extra 5 feet of decking.
However. You trade the hot skillet pan for the flames of detail related to some states and kingpin laws etc. -
so there for you can only hang off the back 4 ft and nothing more in the front legal without permits correct?

If I am not mistaken, over dimensional permit required and no more than 35% of wheel base can overhang. Measurements are taken at center of wheel group.
