    Usually trucks exceeding that height restriction take the long way around,either cutting through East Boston ,Chelsea or Melrose and take the Tobin Bridge or the Ted Williams Tunnel.
    Either way the “Staties” aren’t too happy with that driver!

    The Sumner tunnel is 88 years old and is 12' 6" in height. You would think in all that time, the tunnel would have been improved to accommodate today's standard sized tractor.

    Unfortunately some of those tunnels pass underneath Boston Harbor and there isn’t much margin to raise the tunnel height.
