As yall know I'm getting ready to pull thr trigger on my 45T rgn.
It's been bouncing around in my head that I am not ready to go really heavy because of my current truck.
    18 w9, 525, 18913, 3.36, 13.2k front, checking in the morning if I have super 40s or regular 40s.

So I've been contemplating rather than put 20-30k into a truck I already dont care for, maybe just changing the truck. I'd like to go back to a pre emission(or at least pre2010) truck.
Found one that had twin gear axles that was nice, but it had a tiny sleeper. Saw this truck and I like the first impressions but have no idea about auxiliary transmissions. What do you think?

You know what? I like her.

I would be tempted. It will depend on that cummins being frisky or tired when shifting and pulling. It aint worked in while it seems.

I lean towards this one. She looks like she can take the work. Especially with that huge radiator front.

She will need to have a drive shaft that can accept at least 2100 torque without failing and a engine with at least 1850 torque, more the better. If you are really lucky it might contain a fire engine tuning for 2150 torque. HH is nothing to fool with.

That's a lot of miles on it for that price. But then again if I can't steal it I won't buy anything. That's just me.

I'd see if you can get some history on it. Those could be some hard oil/gas field miles. But if it was taken care of I wouldn't be to afraid to put it to work.

Why? Re-ratio to a 3:90 and run what ya got. Your over thinkin it. Pulling a 45 ton rgn how heavy are you expecting to go ? I ran a W9 with 3:70, 16913 spd. 13.2 steer for yrs hauling up to 132,000 lbs for many yrs (10 yrs) and only lost a power divider once. You won't and don't need that heavy specs unless your going big time. ( think 145,000 or more).
